I think it it the same chassis as a Hotpoint M65ME.

I read in the forums that Flakes and GTC may have the info required.

Thanks in advance

Simon

Dear All,

Apologies for the abruptness of the above post. I am new to forums and have just re-read my post. How could I be so rude ?

This radio was my grandfather's and I can remember listening to it as a child, many great memories listening to Blue Hills and the like.

Cheers

Simon

Hi Simon,

I've emailed the files to you. They were originally sent to me by GTC, one of the ever helpful members here.

No offence taken on your original post, it just appeared enthusiastic. Good luck with your 539, a fine and good sounding radio. You'll find lots of help and support here and hopefully you already know to not turn your radio on until a lot of work and testing is done. Irreparable damage can be done just by giving it a 'quick test'.

Cheers,

Warren

Just got home. No problem Gashalbs I am always happy to supply what I can or try to find it if I haven't.

Hope you get it running. Any problems, just ask. Plenty of knowledge on here for such matters.

Scraps,

Many thanks for the circuit, it was invaluable. Spent many hours surfing to try to find one but to no avail. Obviously it's just a case of asking the right people at the right time.

Thanks for the warning. May be pertinent to some but I have been in the electronics game for over 40 years. Been bitten before by getting too excited.

Also thanks to GTC for your reply. I attempted to send a request directly to you bit the system failed for some reason. Probably operator error.

The radio is actually a Hotpoint M65ME but it is the same chassis apparently. The only difference I can see is a different tone control setup.

Either way it is again belting out dulcit sounds. A leaky coupling cap off the volume control and a shorted cap on the 2nd IF brought it down. Surprisingly all resistors still within spec. A bit of a tidy up and I'll be a happy man.

Again, many thanks.

Cheers

Simon

I think that's a system error. I believe it's on Brad's Christmas break to-do list.

I have sent you the M65ME data for future reference.

Edit: LOL! I must be asleep. I notice that it's the 539MA and that Scraps has sent you that data.

Private messaging is disabled on these forums - I trust this is what you were referring to. Unfortunately private messaging is usually a haven for spammers which is why the feature did not last long here.

I thought I read a recent post by you, in the form of a side note, about something in the messaging function being broken and that you intended to fix it?

I seem to remember saying that...

I think it had something to do with the error caused when starting a thread's subject heading with an apostrophe. An apostrophe is a special character in HTML and to negate its effect it (and all other text after it) has to be surrounded in inverted commas. This was fixed up so that one of the other threads could be displayed. Smile

Probably. My memory has its good days and bad days lately. Thankfully more of the former than the latter.
