Stumbled across this online U.S marketer whilst looking for silver mica capacitors.

Noted their silver mica caps are an Indian brand which I'm not familiar with.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers and best wishes for the New Year.

I purchase from them regularly for any resistors and capacitors I can't source in Australia. Their resistors are particularly good because they are actually rated for high voltage. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and if a radio has a 0.025 cap in it I like to replace it with the same value even though a 0.022 would do. They keep all the hard to find values.

Their prices until recently were very good but because the prices are in US $ they've gone up quite a lot in the last few months with the Aussie $ dropping so much. Postage is cheap and fast, usually between $8-15 and I've had orders arrive the same week although 2 weeks is more normal. The only negative is a minimum order of $20US. The shopping cart is a bit clunky but does work, I used the Excel spreadsheet option last time because there's a bit of variation between what's available and some of the values I wanted were only on the spreadsheet. It must be a nightmare for them to keep everything updated and identical. It's a shame we don't have someone like them in Australia but nobody here keeps the range that they have and now with Steve gone there's even less.

I've only used a couple of their mica caps but they seem to be okay. From what I gather they're a husband and wife team working from home and I can highly recommend them. They're actually in Canada.

Thanks very much for the response, yes they have a good range of components.

Some of which I can find here with any of the suppliers whom are about.

Its mainly the mica caps I'm after so will get one of their packs and get a full range of values.

Usual case is get halfway through a rebuild and find there are one or two caps I can't replace which is annoying.

Cheers

I hate having to down tools to wait for parts. I usually order a couple of radios ahead but I only keep a basic range of micas. I got caught out recently when I had to replace four of the same value micas in IF's that couldn't be peaked but only had three Sad

I notice you're in Bathurst, that's just down the road. We'll have to catch up one day.

When I had my business, over a period of years I purchased several thousand dollars of parts from them.

Dave and Babylon Cantelon are great folks to deal with.

I never had a defective part from them.

They always included a generous amount of spaghetti for insulating the leads of the capacitors for free too.
