Hi,
Does anyone know if any particular stations on AM are good for requests?
I haven't yet tried, but I want a song through my radio from RF,
and lacking any transmitter, might as well get them to do it if they will.
It's Good Vibrations, Beach Boys
Cheers, Brek.

2CH does but only on certain occasions. You are in QLD so it rules that out though.

Sorry I've never requested a song from a radio station in my whole life.
Even when as a kid listening to 2SM in the 60's, anyone remember Mad Mel ?
Maybe a home low power transmitter project hooked up to a CD player might be in order.

Ahh, 2SM in the 70's with Ian McRae and the Hon Nick Jones in the mornings. I always wondered what happened to Ian McRae after FM took over until I heard him doing weekend traffic reports on 2GB recently. How the once mighty have fallen.

Well shortly after posting I Googled about 4KQ requests.
You can fill out a form online with the song name and your email,
then five minutes later I get an email with two play times.
It's not like they played it for me, they just gave me two
approximate times that it is already scheduled for them to play (which is just as good for me).
So for 4KQ it's 5:30 am tomorrow morning (real early),
and 10:30 am Thursday.
Both are approximate.

I sure do. IIRC his show ended with a voice saying, "Okay Mel, back in your cage".

In the 90s he was on 2UW with a show called Nightbeat - he took the place of Ric Melbourne.
These days he works across 2GB and 2CH, mostly 2CH filling in for the regulars. I think he took the spot vacated by Bogart Torelli when she left 2CH.
