If you can keep it out of everything else, or remove the gang.

Aluminium wheel cleaner that foams like shaving cream , is handy for getting gunk of and out of tuning gangs.

A few drops of dish washing liquid is good in a Soda Ash brew. Soda Ash also removes Mouse Doo. Do not leave Soda Ash (aka Sodium Carbonate; Pool Soda Ash) on Bakelite; It will attack it and will take the lustre off of a Cabinet.

About the dishwasher. She uses Woolly’s home Brand & finish.
The wire I use is the same as Exacto but I buy it over here in Perth from Direct Components because it’s slightly cheaper and no postage. I use heat shrink on the component leads as the pushback wire ends seem to fray. I also use the Jaycar 1W resistors as the modern 1/2W is physically too small.
Cheers,
Gary

Someone asked about the 2K resistor

Similar to other one ... this one here is an 1103 full of kitchen type crap it also a 20W resistor so that must have been common to several models, with different layouts

A high class restoration. The mottled finish on the cabinet has come out very well.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
