Why don't you do a TV of the week as well since we have a TV section here? I have had this idea since day one I joined this forum

Not a bad idea though it'd most likely become part of the same feature. I do not have any good photos of valve televisions though as I don't collect them.

If I could get hold of 13 clear, perfectly contrasted, high-res photos of Australian B&W televisions with accompanying information on make, model, place of manufacture, number of valves, screen size, etc.; I'd probably go ahead.

I have a 1962 HMV P1 and a 1966-67 HMV Trent television, the HMV Trent has I think about 13 valves, is a 23" rectangular set and it is currently half working, a mate is restoring it for me and after it gets restored it is going to have a DVD player hooked to it it is a B&W set too

But I do not know where my Trent was made, it would probably be Melbourne because it said something about Victoria on the back

HMV's Sydney factory was on Parramatta Road at Homebush, right next to the Arnott's railway bridge. The building is now occupied by Kennards Self Storage.

I am not sure if HMV had factories elsewhere.

My two TVs were made there, so I think you should start it up with one of my TVs

Sounds good - best to lead by example.

Don't forget the photos have to be clear and high-res. Use a real camera rather than a mobile phone. I will do the resizing and I need lots of info. Use the ROTW data as a guide to what is needed.

Sorry Brad, my iPad is all I've got for a camera, and I try to get my photos as good looking as possible, my P1 was manufactured at the Sydney HMV factory, it uses 13 valves, which I have pulled out to use in my 1966-67 HMV Trent, though will look at the other ones, I'll give you the schematics for it now

I got the news from my TV tech he hasn't finished it up yet so hopefully it will work when he does finish it!

If Nathan and I meet up again in the future, I'll be sure to take some photos with my digital camera for this purpose. However, that probably won't be for a while, thanks to the workload of Year 12.

Brad, do they strictly have to be valve receivers, or would solid state receivers be welcomes too? I have two valve sets (AWA P1Q and Astor SJ), though neither of them are exactly the best of their type (various detracting damage etc.).

I have heaps of vintage televisions in my collection, featured on my website below. They are mostly 1970s and 1980s B&W and colour solid-state sets, but there might be one or two worth a photo?

I'd prefer any features receivers to have valves however an OLD (more than 30 years) solid state receiver would comply with the vintage theme.

For 2014 I am looking at ditching all the current radios and photographing some of the ones I still have in my collection.

If members want to contribute then I am happy to make space available. The photos have to be top notch and high-res though, for presentation purposes. I won't publish anything that is blurry, too close to the camera or under exposed. Members need to supply details with their photos as I won't have the time to conduct any of the research.

Are there any sets in my collection you would want photos of? I have a high-red Cannon digital camera, so photographs are no issue. I could have a look around for basic info, and can supply basic info on the sets.

Two sets I think would be good, would be my 1973 PHILIPS 02TA122 and early 1970s PYE 12G13. They are both B&W solid-state receivers.
