The timer relay came in, and I fitted it into a Linksys wifi router, which is in turn connected to the big router seen a few posts ago.

The timer delays this router's power up long enough until the cable modem and the big router are up and running. There was enough empty space inside this router to fit the timer relay. I used my father's old callsign WB2JIA for the name of the wifi node. He's a silent key, he'd be 98 years old if he were alive now.

Neat mod. What range of delays can you select?

These delay relays come in a variety of lengths of time, from seconds to 60 minutes. The one I used has a range of 10 minutes, and I set it to around 5 minutes. It runs off 12VDC, the same supply the rest of the router runs off of. Makes it easy to wire up inside the router.
