Thanks GTC, after thinking and looking at it I'm contemplating giving it a go myself, I'm fairly competent with Auto Electrical side of things, but will give Duncan a call.
Hi Footy, Autodyne has come up a bit in my research but haven't found a circuit diagram as yet, I'll keep looking.
Cheers Ben, I'll see if I can track him down.

^ This may go without saying, but be very careful working with the high voltage in these sets. The large capacitors can retain potentially lethal charges under the right conditions.

Also insulated tools, especially meter probes, should be be rated at 1000 volts.
