Some may remember "The Secret Life of Machines" TV series from Britain made in the 1980s/90s.

Here's the 1990 episode on the development of radio. Well worth watching. (Runtime 26 minutes.)

Hi all.
I just watched the Secret Life of Machines radio episode on youtube from the link posted by GTC. On it the presenter interviews a very driven vintage radio enthusiast called Gerald Wells. Anyone familiar with The BVWS (British Vintage Wireless Society) would know Gerald well. Gerald from London has one of the biggest radio collections in Europe. A short movie about the life & times of Gerard Wells called "Valveman" was made about 6 years ago. It is well worth a look.
Cheers.
