Further to my comments here regarding the need to shut down the forums for the purpose of modifying the database, I've decided that with all being well, this will take place on Friday, 28th December. This outage will go for most of the day as I don't see the point of activating the forums each time one of several tasks is completed. This will just make things more complex than they need to be.

Whilst the forums are not available there will be a holding page stating the wheres, hows and whys.

Update: Work on the database has finished for the time being. More work will be necessary later in the new year however there should be no more disruptions for now.

Always a pleasure, well mostly anyway.

For now there's two sets of tables in the database, one for this site and another for the new site which will be under development for a while yet. Work has been getting in the road of progress recently and I hope this will sort itself out in 2013.

I might give this site a subtle freshen up in the next week or two just to keep things interesting.
