I've been streaming an oldies station from Perth, 6IX. In their newscast they mentioned a hurricane, Sandy, that has its sights set for New Jersey, and also affecting New York City and Washington DC. I'm located about 150Km from the storm center track. It's raining a lot.

Architects who designed some of New York's skyscrapers will be watching this with some interest and I think parts of Queensland are still being cleaned up after Cyclone Yasi a couple fo years ago.

Let's hope Sandy itself doesn't hit land. Here is some more local coverage: http://www.smh.com.au/environment/weather/we-have-to-take-this-seriously--obama-20121029-28fpe.html
