Just noticed the "Bakelite Radio" link in right column gets a 404. I think the correct link is http://thebakeliteradio.com.au/.

Do you have a place to report broken links or other site issues? If not, might be good to have for Mark 2 site.

There are tools available to for checking the validity of all links on a website.

It's good housekeeping to run that sort of thing on a regular basis, and especially after making site changes.

Firstly, to clarify, I don't mind issues being reported on the forums as it gives everyone a chance to comment on what has been raised. One exception would be anything security related and with that it is definitely best to e-mail me rather than make public any potential disaster. The dead URL doesn't fall into a security issue though. Smile

The URL in the sidebar was correct at the time it was placed there and lead to a site that, from memory, sold a record called "Bakelite Radio".

Anyway, the dead link is gone and thankyou for letting me know.

Ahhhh, I'd better let everyone know that I usually check all outbound links on the site around every six months, paying particular attention to the services directory.

The new forums will automatically render URLs as plain text after a posting is three months old.

"good housekeeping to run that sort of thing on a regular basis"

I just downloaded a Firefox plug-in, and used it to check my links page. Before I did this by hand, and it took a long time. Of course with this plug-in I can't tell if a website changed content to something totally unrelated to radios, but that's not likely. The site:

Hiya Wa2ise, nice site you have there, many excellent links. The link to build your own AM loop antenna takes you to a temporarily unavailable site.....so I assume it is gone. Shame as this something I would like to explore.
Cheers Paul Smile
