I read Brad's article on "Collectability" and his reference to his King Radio, and lack of information on the company.

I was interested so thought I would do a Google search for "King Radio 1928".

This took me straight to a Google Books extract from a very interesting-looking book called "Radio Manufacturers of the 1920s". There is quite a bit of information on King Radio, and some photographs of beautiful examples that look similar to what Brad described. It seems they were suppliers to Sears Roebuck mail-order company, and the photos may be from Sears Roebuck catalogues. The company had begun as a sewing-machine maker.

Members might find information on other American brands of the period from similar searches. The book seems to be in alphabetical order of manufacturers. Google Books is adding materials all the time so a search can get surprising results.
