Hello everyone, my name is Jorge and I have a great fondness for old radios valve and live in Utrera (Sevilla) Spain, the fact is that I purchased a console or cabinet with a radio, I discuss in the forums that I use to get that the furniture looks American, but the chassis of the radio is more modern bone that does not belong to the cabinet, I would like to identify this radio and I for help on the forums of different countries, maybe someone I know and can provide data, the components the low radio are Spanish including the transformer, as you see in the picture lacks the dial, all I'd leave it as it really was, I am grateful in advance. A greeting.
Jorge

Welcome Jorge.

I can't quite put my finger on it but there is something about that chassis that says "home made" to me, possibly a project from an electronics magazine fitted into an old cabinet. (I may be 100% wrong, too!)

Have you tried entering the tubes in it into the Radiomuseum database?

Hello GTC
I like someone put a modern chassis in an antique cabinet, I would find out what was his origunal, and if I can not get it which can lead orientation is consistent with that cabinet. Thanks for your reply. A greeting.
Jorge

The closest I can find is Magestico model: 178 - (Barcelona, c1955) which is stated as having either a permanent magnet speaker or electrodynamic.

If that's the correct model, then the missing tube is ECC82.

As you can see, the data was provided by Miguel Bravo-Cos. If you can find him, perhaps he can help you further.

GTC Hello, thanks for your help, Miguel Bravo does not know him personally, but we talked on the phone and is a great man, the case I am basing the search for this cabinet by himself, not for the chassis, I found thanks to all data that are providing me a picture of an American brand in which the speaker grille looks pretty, I mean the Lyric 88, but looks very good, and the 90 is like much, my intention is returned to its original appearance on the radio, I put some pictures and receive a hug.

Well done on finding the brand. How did you do that? Do I understand that you found a manufacturer's mark on the cabinet?

While I can see a definite similarity in the cabinets, yours of course has the speaker at the bottom.

Hello friend, for in the cabinet there is no mark, the fact is that as it looks very American style Rmorg decided searches, U.S. brands, between 1925 and 1936, in alphabetical order and photo photo until I found, this mine will cover quiraton opened the hole for another chassis and turned him over, now is the dilemma of finding an original chassis or a similar one to restore the look of you from the factory, I know is difficult, but I'll try, I put a link to a forum where we have been speaking Spanish cabinet is in Spanish but you can see all the photos instantly. Visione thousands of photos, but between you, my forum, one American and one French, have I been given the mind to not give up the search and come to find, the legs are added to the cabinet. A saludo.te appreciate your assistance, I never saw just thank you all.

Here you can also see and read in English the best support I have received, because I had to use a translator, I can not speak English. Thanks again.

Well, you certainly did that the hard way!

It seems that you have found the answer, although the original front panel has been badly hacked now. Restoring that will take quite a lot of work.

Those legs always struck me as being wrong for that radio. They look like chair legs to me.

Best of luck searching for an original chassis, but at least you now have a name for it.
