I was reading back through past posts on the above subject and was wondering how others went with their finishes.
I use clear and orange shellac on my Edison Cylinder Phonographs with great results as this was the original finish.
I have also sprayed Nitrocellulose on a console radio with good results. That pin hole effect from porous grain can be a problem, but as mentioned you can multi-coat.
My question is, if I use Shellac as a grain filler, can I spray Nitrocellulose Lacquer over it. Has anyone had this experience?? are they compatible?
Peter
