Though. if I'm correct, you call these sets "mantle radios" and we call this land "plateau". Smile

That's a huge Tasma!

Rock formations like that here usually occur in the deserts of the Northern Territory and Western Australia though there is a close resemblance in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, particularly near the town of Blackheath.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

That rock formation is somewheres on the main road between Ayers Rock and Alice Springs. It had a name but I forgot what it was. Took this picture (without the Tasma!) on my trip to Australia in 1986 when our tour bus made a stop along the way on the highway between Alice Springs and Ayers Rock.

If you happen to find an American penny (our one cent coin, $0.01) around there, I think I lost it in the sand and clumps of grass there. Smile

There's a few of them dotted between Ayers Rock, the Stuart Highway and Kings Canyon, the region I did a tour of last year. I'll dig out some photos later.

I didn't see any 1c coins though.

We do indeed, however we spell it mantel, as in mantelpiece Wink

"That rock formation is somewheres on the main road between Ayers Rock and Alice Springs."

Looks like it might be central Mount Stuart, close to the geographical centre of Oz.
