Well imagine that the Earth were transparent. (like those glass globes you sometimes see). Okay... If you buy into that, this is what Australia would look like when I look through the Earth here in New Jersey. Smile New Jersey USA is near the direct opposite point on Earth from a point about a megameter (1000 kilometers) southwest of West Australia. The curvature of the Earth adds some distortion to the shape of Australia, and my looking from underneath makes it look backwards. If I look down (with enough beer and imagination) this is what my Aussie radios and I would see... Smile

We might have to put this theory to the test one day because every time I dig too deep I end up down in China. Tongue

...Well, when I'm digging for gold anyway...

Nice radio there. I have a cabinet here for one of those Healings but no guts in it. A couple of years ago I had this dream of amassing a collection of Healing sets and custom-built a set of shelves for them though they are still mostly storing other things at the moment.

That little project was inspired by my purchase of Radio Days by Dr Peter Sheridan, who owns one of the most colourful displays of Australian bakelite radios, with a few foreign jobs thrown in to make things really interesting. In his book there is no less than twelve Healing four-valve midgets, each its own colour and to say I am jealous would be an understatement.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
