 re-sound problem

Have phillips radiogram 177e, have replaced capacitors,ran beautiful for about a month then
a crackle and then the sound went really quiet.
the sound is there but only softly,i do not think it is the pots
at wits end can someone point in right direction

Hello Peter, check the valve voltages, this will often point to the trouble. If you touch the hot end of the volume control with it right up you should hear a loud "burp" from the speaker if the audio stage is working. That will direct you to which part of the set is working. Have you got a circuit for the 'gram?
