Hay,

I have an old Kriesler 11-133 which has slowly deteriorated over the past few years, the record player started working intermittently, then started making some grinding noises and has eventually stopped working, the tuner side of things was working until today. Now I get no music coming out of it, you can still hear some general "speaker noise" but otherwise nothing. When adjusting the volume nob all I get is pops and crackles without much of a change in actual volume. I have been doing some googling on it but wouldn't even know where to start on trying to identify the problem [civil engineer here so I don't know anything about electronics]

Just wondering how much it would typically cost to get something like that looked at/fixed. I know you probably can't really put a cost on it without looking at it but just after a ball park figure. I'm thinking if its in the hundreds there isn't much point in even doing the ring around and dragging it all over the place.
