One for TVCollector as promised.
It belonged to my late brother. I can't find anything to identify the maker.
The front door over the center controls needs to be screwed back on and the tube socket soldered back on to the tube wires, Thankfully none of the wires broke off the tube [Kids!! Sad ]
Other than that, it was working.

Perhaps it was a kit Rob. Been a while since I've seen one of those U-matic video machines too. They'd be collectors items in their own right these days.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

The works tag stapled to the inside with the chassis serial number on it suggests otherwise.
Will try to get more info of that tag.

I knew someone was bound to spot the u-matics! Smile

Had a closer look at the tag, just the chassis number 1774 and the chassis type TV 17
I checked the underside, very neat and clean still.
Powered it up and it still works - audio at least as I haven't fixed the tube yet.

A bit of history.
The WATC borrowed it of my brother about 20 years ago for a photo shoot.
They wanted an old black and white TV with a still of Mr Ed on the screen.
There's prints of this somewhere at the house which also quotes the make of the set.
Will have to hunt that up!

A pic of 'valve city' below.

Thanks for the pictures. It's a bit of a mystery set. In the next few days I'll have a look through my manuals and see if I can identify the chassis manufacturer.
