Well here is a bit of history for all of us. I loved the Tandy Store in my home town of Tamworth. Here is the history of Radioshack.

What I liked about Tandy was it had a different style, and often larger range, of components from the others (DSE, etc).

What I didn't like was their manual sales receipts requiring your name and address, and then the catalogues and other stuff that arrived in my letter box. I've mentioned before that I never had any stuff (spam) from Readers Digest in my life until after I first gave my address details for a Tandy receipt.

After that experience I used bogus names and addresses.

Woolworths bought Tandy and closed it down, and then went on to slowly kill DSE.
