Hi All, Can anyone help me my Asus model 4201 laps top accidentally revieved a 12V input via the USB 3.1 port and has completely gone dead. I found two of the filter caps short and removed them but still no power getting the board.
I am not set up at all for doing board level repairs. So I am hoping someone in this group and suggest where I may get this laptop repaired.
Most laptop repair shops in my area do not do board repairs.
Any suggestions on where I could go to get this looked at.

No, as I haven't had board repairs carried out any of my computer equipment. The only gear that is in that category is an old Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme laptop (which weighs half a ton), whose mother board has a problem so I simply purchased a new board. I have yet to install it.

Ordinarily, I would just buy a new computer given the rate of obsolescence of such technology.

The claims on their website are impressive, but I would check their reviews and charges.
