The manager of my local Jaycar told me a while back that the printed catalogue would be returning. This was while I was using their well-worn only copy of the last edition of it which I prefer over their online version when trying to find something quickly (even though I hate the way it was printed in two halves which are vertically opposite each other).
I was wondering if Altronics would stop producing its printed catalogue, but it didn't.
Today I get an email from Jaycar announcing that the printed version is back as a "limited print run only $9.95 while stocks last".

For people like me, who hate looking at computer screens for a lengthy time, printed catalogues are a blessing. It is far better on the eyes if the text is on paper.

With a printed catalogue can go outside with it and have a read. Better than squinting at a phone screen anyday.

I just ordered one on line.
I had been using the 2021/22 issue.
Yes its easier for me to wander through pages, make a list, and then go on line and order via their clunky ordering system.
I buy on line now its too hard for me to go to a store.
Once stuff is ordered it appears on my doorstep in a flash!
They have the warehouse and despatch operation well oiled.

Well, theJaycar cat appeared in my letterbox next day!
Just had a quick read through and give it the thumbs up.
Someone with brains has put the format back the way it was in 2019 getting rid of the barking mad two halves upside down rubbish.
Just forget any cat produced after 2019 this one takes up from 2019.
I thought that I would find products missing but no, only a few deletes and a lot of new items.
The indexing is clear and easy with a contents page 3 guiding you to the section you need.
The sections have a sub index by product type and that's good enough to find stuff.
For the vintage guys Jaycar still list things like 'real solder', wire, resistors, capacitors and the odd globe.
Strangely no valves! Just kidding.
I found a couple of products interesting as they intrude more into the trade commercial sales area.
First were electrical items like 240 volt rated wall plates and switches covered by the electrical wholesalers.
Second were vehicle engine cranking batteries.
Back in the day, both products were a mine field commercially. The electrical stuff crossing swords with wholesalers, the batteries getting into an area of storage and maintenance with out of date product, faulty returns, flat batteries and so on.
Current marketing must see an opening there.
Good luck to them.
Buy a Jaycar cat and a Altronics cat and you have a wide range of product.
Fred.

Ditto. I bought my copy today.
So much easier to browse printed pages than try to scroll through stuff online.
