Thanks for allowing me to join Smile
Hopefully I have found the right place !

I recently bought an old classic car and this came with a 'modern' radio (1980s/1990s) installed, but luckily it also came with a age appropriate Stereo 8 Radiomobile with 8 Track & AM/FM, in a box full of spares !

My enquiry is that I would like to restore this and add modern functionality myself, so that I can reinstall it into the car ........

I'm looking for advice regarding any groups that you may know of, it may be your group, where I can garner information regarding :
- information about the specific model (Radiomobile 108 SR N/P)
- information regarding spare parts for this
- information about upgrades (DAB, Bluetooth, HandsFree etc)
- information about what can be removed to include the above
- appropriate chat forums / discussion groups etc

I am a semi retired architect that jumps in and tackles projects, but I am not a radio engineer or electrician etc just a newbie with a passion to tackle a project so after all the information that I can consume Smile

Also hoepfully I haven't offended existing members re upgrades !

Many thanks

TWW

Hi Tim, and welcome!

Good to have a matching period-correct radio for your car.

I think Radiomobile was an HMV brand.

Not the expert here, I'm a design engineer in my 70s still working full time.
More into vintage TVs.

You can get Bluetooth modules that can be grafted into vintage gear.

MKII Zephyr had a Radiomobile Radio & I have both. Radiomobile was some sort of consortium, or similar with Smith's. The mob that made gauges & such.

It has all circuity & such in the Zephyrs workshop manual and Holden did the same with their early radios.
