Some progress with the 2nd radiogram.

The HT was only about 75 volts and the 6X5 looked a bit unhappy. This set uses a dropper resistor with an electro on each tap. The 1st electro (the one on the 6X5 cathode) was very leaky. After replacing it we now had about 280 volts. I had substituted a temporary speaker for the blown one, and I could get a hum to come out. I found that short wave was working but medium wave was dead. To my surprise, the short wave sound was coming out of the supposedly blown speaker. For whatever reason it's now working so I removed the temporary replacement.

The 2nd electro (a tap off the dropper) was by now rather warm so I replaced it. By measurement I found a pole of the bandswitch wasn't switching the oscillator side of the tuning cap on MW, so I cleaned it and then MW worked.
