QUOTE: After 30 years of trying, Abbey Road Studios finally let [Rick Beato] walk through their doors. Studio 2 at Abbey Road is sacred ground, having recorded some of the most important bands in music history such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Radio Head and Oasis.

Video runs for 47 minutes. Much of the original equipment is maintained in working order for use by today's musos:

Fascinating. This at the time of transition from valve to transistor technology. Some Beatles albums mixed with valve desks, others with transistor. An interesting insight considering the "argument" about the quality of valve v transistor sound.

The '60s JBL(?) monitors high on studio wall seem to be missing their 'Acoustic-Lens'?

...when I freeze the video, I see the velcro strips that attach the 'acoustic lenses', and the "mirror-image" installed slot radiator supertweeters. Their midrange conical horns beam and are ear bleeders without the 'lenses'.

As the tour guide mentions, iconic studios "must have" a Fairchild 600-series Limiter/Compressor, even though only like 500 were made back mid last century, so that now they might cost as much as a BMW to acquire!
