Is there a setting to turn on notifications to responses to posts?

I think some forums call this e-mail subscription. That function is in the software but it has never been turned on because I have no way of testing it without it potentially impacting on the membership if there is a bug in the function. At the moment there is also no e-mail connectivity to the forums because I can't get the mail server to relay correctly. One day there may be time to sort this out. In the meantime, any threads with unread postings are highlighted and you can set this to push recently updated threads to the top of the list in the Control Panel. ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

A potential side issue of email notifications that it can lead some ISPs to flag a site as a spam originator, although not likely here I think because of the comparatively low traffic.
