Had a fairly low key auction today. Nice little get together. A member arrived with a trailer load of freebies ! Took 5 minute to clean it out. Some of the guys went so fast you would have thought they had a rocket stuck up em lol. I managed to get three fairly good ones out of it. A little philips Minstrel with only a dirty on /off switch stopping it and two fairly straight AWA mantle sets. Will send photos of my finds and some of the auction.
Cheers Guys.

There was a massive box of valves and a lot of good test equipment.
I have sent photos.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

That's a nice bunch of radios. The Gulbransen obviously comes from NZ.

Robbert yes the Gulbransen is a U.S brand which had a subsidiary in New Zealand and its a beautiful chassis.
That little black Philips is now in pristine condition and working beautifully. This was after a fellow collector told me he had the correct knobs and wanted the incorrect knobs that were on it. The only two issues the radio had was the on/off switch needed a lube and clean and the dial light was corroded/welded into its socket. A little bit of judicious work with my drill fixed that issue. Its had a full recapp and about to get a replacement model sticker on the backing board.
