ABC is now repeating 40 year old episodes of Parkinson In Australia. Prior to the show, viewer advice stating the program reflects the views and attitudes of the time, and may offend some viewers. Have we really become *that* sensitive?

I can't remember the last time I watched anything on the ABC. It must be several years now.

Same here. There's nothing on the ABC worth watching.

I can list on one hand all the shows I watch on TV these days. When my current TV blows up I'm not at all sure I'll get a replacement.

Just look on the bright side, with gender nuetrality, You wont be able to use male & female names as they are gender specific, you cn't talk about women's interests as they no longer exist & men don't have any. So as they will not be able to use names or use anything that identifeis you as Arthur or Martha. They will be virtually condemned tp play untitled instrumental music or shut down.

I haven't watched TV for a decade and I don't miss it one bit.

I sometimes see TV when visiting people and I find that my tolerance of ads is even less than it was 10 years so.

I watch YouTube channels that interest me (with the ad blocker on).

As for the ABC: https://quadrant.org.au/opinion/qed/2014/02/abcs-marxists/

Have to agree with most comments.
When our Y2000 NEC box TV dies I'm not fussed about replacing it.

We watch a comedy show called the National News on network 7/9/10 at 6 at night , well I think its a comedy show, because most of it makes me laugh. Full of "hard hitting " reporters reporting about whining people who should just get on with it.

Actually we do put the NEC on to watch the ABC cartoons, who could resist "Ben and Hollys little Kingdom" and "Peppa the Pig"?
Now those are shows full of wisdom, reality and getting on with it!
We see the ads for those weird "reality" shows full of useless people with trout lips and IQs of 60.
Fully scripted rubbish. I hung around TV production teams long enough to see through any show so called "reality".
Illusion is the name of the game. For the masses.

We also watch the cooking show "Masterchef" I keep seeing confected scripting and production in it but the cooking is interesting.
They manage to keep the production crews out of camera range most of the time!
And we do watch the versions of the "Chaser" one of the least FAKE quiz shows (EG anything with Million Dollar in its name).
Thats about it really, we do dip into overseas news services now and then to see who is blowing who up, but thats about it really.

Fred.
