Hello G!
Yes ,It's a great show and I have the box set .
I often play it on my old TVs .
In some ways it's better than the Twilight Zone .
jB had the box set very cheap cheap at one stage .
Old vintage TVs are great fun with Sci fi movies .
Hope ya well, Pete

Hi Pete, good to hear from you. All is well here, thanks.
Talking about old TV shows, I have on DVD Perry Mason (the B&W years), Leave it to Beaver, Dragnet, Watch Mr Wizard, The Phil Silvers Show (Sgt Bilko) and more.

I have quite a DVD collection of TV shows though most aren't that far back. Prisoner, Mash, The A Team, Knight Rider, Get Smart, The Dukes of Hazzard, Gilligans Island, Kinswood Country and The Bill count amongst what is in stock. I refuse to watch what gets called programming these days. I spent a few years living in the bush, where there were only two TV channels and this was in pre-Internet and pre-Pay TV times. We all managed to get by and the choice of the ABC plus a local channel that picked a mix of local programming plus the higher rating shows from across the Sydney channels was plenty and still could be when one accounts for the sheer rubbish that we are served up these days.

I haven't watched broadcast TV since 2007.
I see a bit of it occasionally when visiting friends and I note that it's just as crappy as it was 15 years ago, if not worse.
There's still a TV in the house, but it's only used to screen DVDs.
I subscribe to 200+ YouTube channels, so I get to watch what I want, when I want (ad blocked, too).
Some here may remember the many serials on radio. I have bought some of those on CD from Grace Gibson:

Back in the 1980s a work colleague of mine used to listen to that on the radio in his office every afternoon. Took me back to my mother listening to it at home when I was quite young.

Funnily enough, some of my classes at school were just as disruptive, for more reasons than one. With that so far in the distant past, I can afford to laugh it off. Ultimately, some teachers have the knack for controlling a class and others don't.

I was interested to see the reference to Grace Gibson, as a very good friend of ours spent his entire working life with Grace as sales manager up until his retirement.
I have many serials as MP3 files, but also have some on Grace Gibson labelled discs, including Night Beat, The Bishops Mantle, and Portia Faces Life. Night Beat is on a 16 inch, inside start red vinyl so it is a bit special. The others are a mix of 10 and 12 inch, all at 33 1/3 rpm.

I wonder how many 576-line PAL DVD shows & films are upscaled from 480p source material?

Looking at Perry Mason on station that transmits in 720p, they must have used UHD 'Data-cine' to convert original 35mm film, looks like noiseless HD, no film grain, has been digitally removed, it's almost good enough to follow the story-line, but I lack the 'attention-span'
