At first I thought this was an adult movie theater, with the "XXXX" signs.

And more pictures of my trip at http://www.wa2ise.com/space/aus.html

Mostly a distant memory now, probably because the comet is only about 40 years away from coming back. The unfortunate thing is that it makes me feel older.

I remember back to that time and the pending arrival of the comet was talked about for months. It overshadowed the political debate and even talk about the tyrants of the time such as Pol Pot and Colonel Gaddafi.

With the leaps in telescope technology since then, we could probably see the comet where it is now if there was any good amount of light shining on it.

I had the pleasure of discussing the 1910 passing with my grandmother who was 9 at the time. Unfortunately by the time 1986 came around she had cataracts and could not make out that fainter passing.
