Hi all, my mum is down sizing and I have come across this Reliance Skyraider looks to be in great condition. Are these wanted and who takes these?
Mum told me to put it in the skip bin but its beautiful and needs a new home. Located Nelson Bay NSW.

.Johnno: the not so good news is that radiograms are not popular with collectors, mainly due to their size. I have seen them dragged to auctions only for there to be no bids, and for no one to want them even as giveaways.

However, someone may be interested in parts of it, such as the record player or the chassis.

You should consider keeping this and getting a competent tech to service it and add blutooth ( not a big job ) they sound amazing and can give you many years of service!

PS: Unless it's been in use in recent times, don't be tempted to power it up. Doing so can cause otherwise avoidable and possibly irreparable damage.

The correct procedure is for it to be checked over by a competent tech for a range of usual problems with old valve gear such as that before power is applied to it.

Lucky perhaps, if its not to near Sydney and is on high ground otherwise first mod may be floats.
