I had something flash up about a $3:00 antivirus software for Android .
I sent back to reread it and it was gone. I cannot remember what it was called
Point is I am dead scared to download anything.Just because it has glowing reviews is meaningless. I could be downloading a whole pile of nasties from a crook.
I have found from previous antivirus programs they basically slow the device down and inhibits you from doing anything.
Regards Jim

Go over to google play and you can read up on the Apps there ,
But phones/ android Tabs are very easy to hack , particularly a phone so any banking etc you do ,it's far better to use your computer.

Hi Pete.
I have looked . Firstly are they all legitimate ? Secondly looking at the reviews I did not see one that stacked up well. I no longer use a computer. I do everything on this phone , it has a large screen 128 gig memory. What more can I ask for. The problem I have is living in this corrupt evil world . It never used to be like this , stop the world I want to get off!
I am hoping someone can suggest a product that works well on Android phones that just works. The free ones are choked with adds I am not computer savvy . I am feeling quite stressed about being backed.
Regards Jim

All I can suggest is to replace your browser with Firefox.
What I like about Firefox is, if something suspicious comes along or wants to redirect you to another site, Firefox will ask your permission. You decide whether you trust the site you are on or not. Almost all of those annoying pop-up ads get blocked too.
It ain't perfect but it's the best we have, IMHO.
Just google "Firefox for Android" You should get the Mozilla site. It will ask for your email address to send you a download link to the correct version for your device. You can trust it in this case.
