Have an AWA 701 and the dial globe fittings have corroded.
They are the ones that have a fitting that clips onto the dial backing plate.
Does anyone know where I can get some of these.
Don't think I can upload photos yet.
Thanks Terry

Brad's photo service is out of service, but you can upload to somewhere else and link to it.

Suggest uploading your photos to imgur and then linking to them here.

In the meantime, maybe this can be adapted: https://au.element14.com/multicomp/spc21718/lampholder/dp/1311067

There are also these two:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/274849446794

Might be able lash something up from these.

There was recently on ebay two dial light fittings combining the sort of clip in the second listing, but with an edison screw globe holder. Consider buying them as spares for my STC 830 as I have had to modify one of the six fittings on the radio, but decided not to in the end. Can't find the listing now, but it might pop up again if no one bought them.

Is there a possibility that a downsized photo can be sent to those who have responded, with their OK. I am on face book as an alternate, it seems to size the image itself.

There is corrosion and corrosion: Viz serious, catastrophic and able to be dealt with. I worked in chemistry & have no issues with and have handled some really deadly stuff. One needs to see it / them to gauge what can be done. There is more than one barrow load of scrap sets here.

Hi Terry,

I bought a huge bag of dial light holders at an auction some time ago. Email me a picture and I will check if I have what you need.

Regards, Frank.

P.S. My email is open.

OK, many of the suggested holders could be adapted for that situation.

BTW: what voltage are the bulbs?

OK, as you may know, those are available from Jaycar in 2 different bulb lengths.

Correction: Jaycar sells just the longer length bulbs.

That green is Verdigris from the globes. Those holders are the common type & quite frankly they look ok albeit one might need a repair as the globe has been screwed in too hard.

If it was mine I would take the globes out, some may be ok? The holders slide off & really look like they just need cleaning.

There are two types of globe, the 300mA long ones that burn holes in Nitrocellulose dials. and the round smaller 150Ma ones that cannot reach the dial to burn a hole in it. Also used in the charge light in my 6V TED-20 Tractor. Think HRSA has them?

I was at Jaycar briefly today and I noticed that they only sell the one size 6.3 volt and 12 volt bulb with ES base. It's the longer type. I have updated my previous post on that.

I also noticed that they still sell a bare ES type socket (SL2658): https://www.jaycar.com.au/mes-globe-holder/p/SL2658
