Have this Astor HPM in for repair.
Part of the repair was to replace dial cord and reinstate dial pointer. Plus new front glass(plastic replica).
Question: what was the original technique used to stop the pointer from scraping the paint off dial.
The only thing I can see that would work would be tiny pieces of felt on the ends of the pointer.
But that would be visible from the front.
Does any one have an untouched original HPM to see what’s it supposed to be like.
TIA, JJ

I have some radios with that felt plainly visible.

OK, thanks for looking.
Will go with small felt pads.
