Hi,

I recently got a Phillips 466 portable AM\FM cassette radio from a local second hand goods store. It was claimed that it didn't work as it would not turn on. I tested it out and all I got was a pop from the speaker. No volume, no radio and when I engaged the tape deck, the motor only span for a second before cutting out. The tuning\battery meter also appears to be dead as it does not move at all.

Does anyone know where to start on this (i suspect it is a power supply issue) and does anyone have a copy/ know where to find a service manual (if one exists)

Thanks

Can't help with schematics or repair tips, but can tell you that the full model designation is 90AR466/45 and was sold in Australia between 1976 & 1978.

A service manual will exist somewhere.
