The sad fact is that there's no Australian company prepared to buy it back from the Japanese.

In recent years, the Bega Cheese Co. has been doing a lot of buying, including bringing Vegemite back home, however they probably don't have the cash for everything that becomes availabe. That said, these former Lion Nation assets, some of which were Australian originally, would be able to form part of Bega's core business - dairy processing.

Any government stopping Chinese ownership of anything in Australia at this time will get my vote. We need to stick it to the CCP as much as possible.

Good that sale was stopped and totally sick of seeing Australian assests being sold to mostly chinese interests.
