The old saying "You're only as old as you feel" is pretty true. However, 50 isn't old by today's lifespan expectations (... for non-smokers).

Well I feel and look like step Toe today.
Lots of heavy physical work going on here and I just can't seem to get to the end of it.
I will ,but it's taking 3 times as long .

Pete I live by the belief that "I am not old , its only people that are older than me that are old"
Your married to a Filipina thats one way of feeling young and only people that are married to filipinas will understand what I mean!

My muscles have fallen lower than they used to be. I'm the same vintage and whilst I can walk an unlimited distance any day of the week I can't do a single chin-up anymore. I remember back to the days when I used to work for a fence builder and I was the labourer and it was nothing to carry two 40kg bags of readymix from the front kerb to the back yard of the customer's lot. I'll admit to the boss putting the second bag up before grabbing a bag himself, there's no way I could have lifted both. These days the biggest bag is 20kg - bunch of wimps these days.

Nah. The timber yard was Amazing Fencing but they ran with subbies, once of which I worked with for about 18 months. I was only about 22 at the time. I've built fences since those times but the days of throwing up 40m a day are long gone.

I'm 62 and when another ache, pain, twinge or something comes along it just becomes the new normal.
Years of working in outside broadcast and lifting heavy lenses, roadcases, link equipment etc have caught up with me.
When I see a young person lifting something way heavier than they should or lifting it badly I always have a go at them.
It may not hurt now but it will catch up with you later in life.
Trust me!
