Putin is on the news with the worlds first vaccine ...
See link .
Well , I would take a jab with a Vaccine from Russia I think ... Certainly would not take a chinese made vaccine thats 4 sure .
But , I would say that if Russia as one then other countries must be very close to it too !!!..,, So may be all this is coming to an end !! Gosh I hope so !

Hi Carl ,
Yes I'm sure you're right ,But china's new tactics seem to have a scary agenda.... South sea is just one . I think years ago China was happy to make money out of producton and lift the people out of poverty ...But the new China seems to want a lot more than that . When I say this I mean their Government not the average Joe or the should I say the average wong ..... I read a lot about Asia and the south china sea becuase I have people over there ,,Family and Friends ,So I take an interest in watching it and its scary at the moment ,,, Pete

Suggest Vlad gets himself a shot, then spends a few weeks cavorting around VIC. Let's see how that goes.

One should not be so naïve as to underestimate the technological capabilities of Russia. Their rocket scientist was far ahead of everyone. They also took a rejected American tank design & made it formidable.

I think that them calling it "Sputnik" reeks of symbolism & one-upmanship. Suggesting that they are not kidding.

Time will tell.

Yes, I read in The Australian this morning that he put his daughter up for being a guinea pig but didn't get in line before her. Vlad has always been a big tough hero.

I'll pass on anything from Russia or China and happily wait for one made by CSL.

No, I would not underestimate Russian at all, Particularly technology related to viruses .The cold war would of seen their scientists develop all manner of things. I watched an interview with Putin a couple of years ago at the height of the Fat Kim and Trump dramas and fat Kim was threating to nuke anyone he could.
Putin was against Kim having nukes and he went on TV and in plain layman terms he explained what would happen to our world if there was a nuclear exchange and his insight of the effects into a nuclear exchange was frightening. He said There would be no world and no body wants that ..
Ain't that the truth!
I did a trip around Australia in the late 90s towing a home made camper from a box trailer. I did the trip in Lada niva 4x4 and it was fantastic car to do the trip in.if I had to buy a LandCruiser I would not of been able to afford the trip for many many more years...
It was a wonderful experience traveling right through Arnhem land in that Niva, I had to get permission to travel through it.
The car looked a wreck by the time I returned to Sydney.....

A friend of mine bought a brand new Lada Niva back in the 80's.
It quite literally fell apart.
If you hit a decent bump the whole dashboard ended up in your lap.
It had some sort of axle wind up issue causing a horrible groaning sound which was never rectified.
He ended up getting rid of it while it was still worth something but took a heavy loss.
You must have got a good one Pete.

Mine was a Niva 4x4 , Italian motor design bought off the Italians and then resigned for the Russian military...not the Lada car. Completely different vehicle
Honestly it was great,I remember one day I crossed 8 rivers in one day towing a trailer.
I split the petrol tank in desert ,due to the breather being blocked with red dust. I waited 3 weeks for a new Tank to be shipped from Melbourne . Apart from that it never let me down.

I suppose Russia got the vaccine by spying on China.

With what else Russia does with IM medications, thinking about the poisoning of MI6 agent, Alexander Litvinenko, I wouldn't trust them with making aspirin let alone a vaccine. Just because their knowledge is good doesn't mean their intentions are. As for China, they deliberately spread the virus and I want a home-grown preventative for it. I'll wait for CSL's vaccine.

Pete! What a brave man you are ! You should submit an article to a car magazine it would be a great read. The first positive comment I have heard regarding the Lada Niva.
Regards Jim

It's been reported that, like China, the Russians have fast-tracked their national approval process by skipped stage three trials. It automatically disqualifies it from coming here which is probably not a bad thing. The TGA won't give it the nod without the due processes being followed.

There's a possibility, I suppose, that the Russian vaccine candidate might just work but no-one knows for sure because the final round of testing hasn't been done to ensure that people don't suffer side-effects from being immunised.

Phillippines President, Rodrigo Duterte, has offered humself as a guinea pig, though this bloke seems to be a bit like Bill Shorten - a perpetual political backflipper who changes his mind to suit the mood and the hour of the day. He is very unreliable.

Ok how do we know that Russia did skip the last trial. How do we know that they didn't have the vaccine straight up. I mean before Covid 19 was released upon us. Sorry I'm wearing my conspiracy hat lol . If the vaccine works I'm pretty sure we will be checking it here as well .
