They could be for another noxious weed like Lantana to wreak more havoc with the Australian ecosystem?

Just because it's on lots of news sites doesn't mean it's true, as we have seen many times. Copy and paste journalism.

I haven't read any of the stories associated with this but are all those news sources assuming it's not just accidental contamination of some sort? Are all the affected parcels coming from the same vendor? Has anyone tried growing the seeds and making sure they are real?

Lol, yes That makes sense , both parties are at Each other's throats.
During the great depression in America the president Roosevelt sent out boxes of seeds to all the people and told them to grow their own food.
Perhaps these new seeds being sent is China way of saying , well your in depression again!
Have some seeds !

Seeds from China?
I'll bet border control would have something to say about that!
Anybody that received any seeds from anywhere should be contacting the Feds and getting the stuff destroyed.

Funny people Chinese, note on the popular TV shows how many used to wing in from OS with suitcases jam packed with food?
Probably told there was no edible food in Australia.
When asked the typical response was "not food..not food....is.medicine!" as Customs opens the 6th suitcase jammed with noodles and pigs feet!!

Fred.

No, I don't think it's happening in Australia Fred. Only in America and that's if it's happening at all???

Now pigs feet , oh we use to eat them when I was a boy and also make pig trotters soup.
My family was from Scotland and they eat all kinds of odd things . A bit like the 2 fat ladies cooking show . Actually it was one mum's favourite shows . So I've eaten all that stuff in my past.
