Like many I feed internet radio stations into my AM modulator. I use a defunct Telstra T hub 2 tablet. Every now and again It interrupts the program with a short buzz which may be incoming emails. I removed our emails from this device however I think it is coming in from the NBN regardless.
If I bought a dedicated internet radio would this still happen?
It is hard to justify spending money on a dedicated internet radio if it is no better than a tablet or computer or mobile phone. Not sure how well I have explained this.
We have managed to find a compromise in our listening it is now tuned to Shine FM. Robin no longer goes crook when I fire up a radio having said that, I do miss the adds for arthritis products and funeral insurance etc LOL!

Jim , Before you spend any money check it with other Device,, phone or Computer or a Tab , The reason being is I had a very similar problem, But my set up is different then yours because I only want to stream music to one radio in my house and that is a Kriesler Radiogram so I have the Modulator wired into my Radiogram and then, of course, the Module is on blue tooth to whatever device I'm streaming from ,Eg Phone or Lap Top . But when I first set it up I did not have a Laptop that was working so I had to use my Phone which is a cheap Andriod I bought from Coles and I had Odd noises , Low volume and one day it made a bang sound and I near went through the Roof .
I then fixed my Lap Top and paired the Music modulator with Lap top instead and Ive never had the problem again of low volume or odd sounds so it may be worth trying if you have another device ... I don't have NBN as I don't want to give up my landline.

Hi Pete.
I should try another device, space is a problem the transmitter sits under the bench in the garage and no room for an ugly big lap top.
It is not a project I want to spend dollars on, so I won't be rushing in.
Regards Jim.

Is this buzz happening when using the bluetooth receiver, or is the T-hub wired directly in to the modulator?

Hi Monochrome TV.
No directly patched in . If I listen to the Thub as a stand alone unit it still occurs .It is very random when something is getting updated I think it is incomming on the NBN.It is more of a chime than a buzz. Just trying to find out generally if a dedicated WiFi internet radio has any benefits over a phone or tablet.

I don't know much about dedicated internet radios, but I think you'll being doing your dough if you bought one. You can do pretty much anything that an internet radio does on a smart device or tablet.
I mentioned before that my current favourite "Classic Hits" radio station is Magic FM in New Zealand. Previously I was listening to it via the Radio Box app. Yesterday I downloaded the Rova app. The streaming quality is way better & you get the song title & artist displayed on your device.

I ,at times do not express myself in clear terms I guess what I am talking about is data traffic on NBN what I am expericing is barely noticible by and large it is working well . I like to use the T Hub 2 because it has it's own power supply base unit and is completely useless for any other purpose. You can pick them up on eBay very cheaply.
