Hello all. I am a bit embarrassed to ask this question,it exposes me to the reality I have no patience and understanding of these evil computer things. Is there a simple scanner that operates on wifi that will allow you to scan directly to email without the need for a computer . I have spent the best part of the day trying to email one page, a circuit diagram. All used to work fine using Vuscan app which cost a fortune this was necessary because my Samsung SC3400 is not fully compatible with Windows 10. It used to work now it does not send to email . Tried another method trying to email it from documents and it comes back the email address is not linked to the application or some such thing. I spent hours trying, looking at all the information available with no luck.
Sorry about the long rant .I want simplicity that suits my simple nieve nature.
Regards Jimb

"Scan to a PDF" or similar should be one of the options in your scanner software.

Scan and Save it to "My Documents" or somewhere else where you can find it later. Give it a meaningful name.

Then, in your email program, after creating a new email and writing what you are going to say, choose Attach File (usually the little paperclip), choose "locations on this computer" and "Browse."

Find the file, click Open and OK.

Then send your email.

Two suggestions. If there is an Officeworks near you you could use their 'serve yourself' photocopier and save the scan to a USB stick. Then attach the file to your e-mail in the usual way. Second would be to use a camera/smartphone photograph the diagram and attach the jpg. I know that the photo method is not as good as a scan but it may do the job.

Micro$oft will tell you that the beauty of Windows is that it is so intuitive you just know how to do whatever you want! After 35+ years in Info Technology and having used every version of Windows from 1.0, I know all the lies.

Jimb,
You can do this ,I do it this way often.
Just take the picture with your phone and email it to office works.
They can either print it or email it back to you.
Then you just forward it to whoever wants to see it next.

Pete

Or, plug your phone into the computer's USB port and browse to it with Explorer.

As Jimb has mentioned elsewhere, unfortunately he sufferers from the shakes, so a scanner of some sort is needed. Officeworks is a good suggestion for the occasional scan.

Most scanners these days cater for wireless connection to the PC, and IIRC some will launch your email application, too, although you would usually want to check the quality of the scan before sending it to someone.

What about a Hand scanner that way Jim's arm can rest on the desk or a pillow?
I have never used one ,but I'm sure we should be able to solve this for Jim. Some of you guys are savyy with computers.
My mum had the shake too so I know it can make things difficult when it comes.

Pete
