 HMV 5101 aka Marconi 7101 same chassis

I did post on this a while back & I was sent a circuit. It would be helpful to have the full data. I have had no feedback from the deceased estate. I can spend money & get the data sheet if the mob are genuine.

Of interest if someone has one of these sets, is the 2Meg tapped volume pot. There is no indication on the circuit as to the point it's tapped at?

There are a couple of ways of dealing with the issue but without the old pot there is a problem. I'm toying with the idea of using a 12 position switch rather that the 2M pot in it, as that enables tapping from a set point rather than a parallel divider.

Rule of thumb I was taught to go by is taps are usually one third rotation from the appropriate end. As I've mentioned elsewhere I would usually abolish the tap and associated circuitry anyway and, in today's conditions, I'll warrant the owner would not know the difference.
