I've been sorting my valve collection. I have a stack of 6CM5 valves to give away, approx 28/29 in Qty
A couple appear to be NOS, about half have boxes( plain white) and the rest loose. I have no idea on working consdition of any of them

First email I receive gets them, post free. Address is unhidden

Ben

I'll have a look. Are they little baseless 9 pins?

No. They are an octal twin triode.

https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/049/6/6BL7GTA.pdf

They look very similar to a 6SN7, have you considered this?

They have the same pinout but the 6BL7 has a 10 watt plate dissipation per triode whereas the 6SN7 is 5 watts. And half the heater current too.

So it depends on what you want to use it for.

Has anyone got an excess of 6AQ5's or 6AN7's that their willing to sell?
I'm quite low on both and most of my radios use them. I recently restored a AWA radiola and noticed the audio muffled and faded after a few minutes of use so I tested its 6AQ5 to which it was revealed that I could barely get marginal emissions at 7.5v on the filament! Completely dead from the old paper coupling cap I'd presume

In stock and surprisingly cheap from my favourite "tube" shop, tubedepot.com.

You can pay silly money for 6AQ5s, they are becoming an audiophool tube. Seems they must have a large stock of NOS RCA 6AQ5s.

Thanks Ian
Taking a look on their site it would be just under AU$88 for 4x 6AQ5's shipped
How reasonable is this?

Actually I get AU$77 for 4 with combined snailmail postage, but even at $88 they are still cheaper than our local friends in Brisbane who I won't name but who should know better..

Also about the same price as an approximate chinese equivalent from Jaycar.

I mainly use them for B&W TV valves that are hard to get any other way, they seem to have almost everything. TV valves are generally not in huge demand so the prices are good.

HRSA valve bank?
