My friend has a large table-model Metz-7514 Stereophonic with FM, Shortwave and 2 other bands, plus record player. I would like to find information, manual, schematic etc. for this radio so I can restore it.

I found a picture which looks very similar (if not identical) to it on another website, but it was listed as Metz model 510. Here is the picture:

Please help with any info on this or similar models... Thanks!

G'day Jordan,

I am afraid that all I know is that Metz was a company based in Germany. Does your dial glass show European stations or is it localised for US stations?

These tutorials contain a lot of worthwhile information relating to specific aspects of vintage radio. I recommend a read of these though some of them are quite large. You might need a cuppa tea and a few hours to get through them all in one hit.

Restorations

Back by popular demand are a few articles of mine that deal with restoration of vintage radios. As I edit them for clarity they will be republished.
