When I bought the 1200, beside it was the rotary version which had a very slick console (and was more expensive), but I decided to stick with the conventional 4 cylinder and I'm glad I did as the rotaries of that era were fuel guzzlers and had numerous issues with seals. Not that petrol was a big deal because it was pretty cheap -- it was just the nuisance of having to refuel too often or the danger of running out of petrol after hours back when all night petrol stations were rare. (In Brookvale, there was Mobil station with a coin-operated pump for after hours use. You fed it 20 cent pieces. I recall one night where 20 cents of gas was enough to get me home.)

The Mazda Bravo small trucks have a good reputation.

Yep that would of been the RX1
The RX1 and 2 had the 11 a and 12b motor.
Today it's worth a fortune and the sell 30k
My Rx 4 had the 13b motor and it was worked .
I was a young rev head back then.
Terrible thing to have to admit too in this day and age .

The popular vehicle on the Northern Beaches for the twenty-somethings back then was the Holden Sandman, with surfboards (whether used or not) on roof racks.
