I'm normally pretty good with isolation, but I'm missing the market and garage sales.
My plan is to finish doing some painting and some of my projects that have piled up to keep sane .

Yep.

My new $50 spectrum analyser has just arrived, so, when I can get an unlock code for the software I'll be able to set up those TV modulators properly.

I have a long list of stuff that needs attention/restoration, but the usual hold up is parts, many of which I source from O/S. With the dollar being in the doldrums, together with other virus-associated issues with suppliers, plus the fact that I have to travel to my workshop (and avoid the Gestapo) I'm catching up with a big backlog of reading instead.

The dollar has only dropped about 5%.

I'm finding no problems with O/S sourcing.

How far do you have to travel to your workshop? You're there by yourself, right? Not picking up passengers on the way?

The only reason I'm working from home is most of the office cohort has young kids - little germ spreaders! And the aircon. Plus I'm in the high-risk age group.

It's still too low for my liking. YMMV.

All interesting The joy of the Farm is that the closest houses to me is 500m, two workshops one incorporating the office. Computers & Radio's for repair & a few keepers do not go in the house and food does not go into the radio / office workshop.

Jesus, Marc, no crumbs on the workbench, no undone washing up, no rats, mice and cockroaches, that's no fun at all. Shock

A lot of those radios (several hundred) present a bio hazard from mainly Rodents & Lead. Lots of hungry birds here during the dry & they would often pop into the house if the door was open, being a bug is perilous. Even the resident Frog Mouth & Bat have discovered the electric smorgasbord.

With no woman to complain, the toilet seats stay in the hygienic up position, which stops flys (inside) and the wildlife (frogs) outside sitting on the seat. One does not dare use the outside one in summer with out flushing first to remove the fauna.

The second bedroom is the walk in wardrobe: Chaos can be fun.

Rural life is rarely dull

We used to have a pair of tawny frogmouth owls that took up residence in the many trees around our French Forest home.
As you probably know they mate for life.
Anyway, one morning we found one of them dead on the driveway.
Its mate would call all night for the next year. Very sad, sounded like crying.

Then there was the half dozen kookaburras that would wake us early in the morning, perch on the fence and go for quick dips in our pool. Sometimes one would stay too long, not be able to get out and require rescuing.

Re the toilet seat Marc, did you ever see "The Big Lebowski"?

There was a similar scene to that in Runaway Train, where a Canadian Alaskan gaol governor dunked the head of a railway controller after he refused to disclose the location of a train that was being used by escaped prisoners to gain freedom.

He almost copped a second bout after this:-

Governor: Now, where's the train?
Controller: On the train track.

What I like about the Big Lebowski scene is how the thugs are readily convinced when told that "No woman lives here! The toilet seat's up!"

It's a crack up how women spew about the seat being up. I have relatives who keep the lid down as well. What's that going to stop? It was established years ago that a well maintained dunny is cleaner than the floor that surrounds it.

To me, the lid was always for covering up the flushing pipe so that it didn't need dusting as often and the lid stays up unless it is dump time.

Pardon me, Ladies. Wink

I'm busying myself building a carport at the back of my garage.
I was lucky enough to get all the timber delivered a couple of weeks ago.
I'm pacing myself by just doing a bit each day so I don't finish it too soon.
My 4.5m halfcab boat will live under it and will no longer need to be covered by a tarp after each use which was a PIA.
Unfortunately with the current restrictions I can't take it out for a spot of fishing.
Very disappointing.

I do have a 1940's STC mantle radio sitting in the attic which might get a look in.
There's always something that needs doing.

My work doing Satellite uplinks has completely dried up so I've now got plenty of time now.
