I'm wanting to buy a dvd player which is multi region.
Any thoughts or experiences of good ones .
It can be new or second hand I don't care.
The remote needs to have zoom on it though as I use it on vintage TV sets and often you need to zoom it on some of my sets .

Thanks pete
Ps I'm watching Malcolm tonight on one of my old sets , A movie I'm sure you all know and remember

I can vouch for the Laser, have got two of them.
Play virtually everything.
Well made and reliable, both came from BigW, first one $39 second on special $29.

Those that don't advertise as multi-region can usually be hacked to play all discs. I have a Sony and a Sherwood and both have been 'opened up' to all regions. Destructions for different models are available on the Internet.

Probably that applies to the one you have Pete.

I have an old unit (unfortunately dead) that does (did) scaling as you describe.

I popped into BW and had look at the dvd player. I liked it , apparently it's the best selling dvd player in Oz They also make a blue ray ,but the movies I watch didn't seem to make the transition over to blue ray.

Ian ,I'm buying because pearl uses my little dvd player in her room on a modern TV .
You know what kids are like no class or style yet to be overwhelmed by the beauty of vintage black white TV sets.

Bought it today from BW.
Works well with old tellies if the need to zoom is needed. Most other shops were closed , public holiday apparently something to do with racing
