I use ad breaks on the telly and radio to go to the dunny, get food, etc so ads on those mediums don't bother me that much.

My letter box is mine - not the advertisers, so my law applies to it even if state law doesn't. I'm not a swinging voter so I go to the polling booth with my intentions already decided.

Commercial radio and television operators look at scheduling from this viewpoint: Content is, unfortunately, a necessary interruption to the advertising stream. If they could run ads 24 x 7 and still get significant audience numbers, they would be in hog heaven.

Pete I'm going to put to you all a question. I agree and stand with you about the Chinese people , they are like all races , there good people and evil people and I have many Chinese friends.
The question is this! At the time of the communist revolution how many old school traditionalists whom refused to give up there beliefs had to be gotten rid of ?

I know the answer and it's pretty bad.

Wonderful story. Magnificent effort by an extraordinary man:

QUOTE: A 99-year-old man who pledged to walk 100 laps of his backyard for frontline workers has been overwhelmed after donors gave $7.9 million.

A World War II veteran aged 99 has raised an amazing £4 million ($A7.9M) for the NHS as he tries to walk 100 laps of his garden.

Tom Moore has been overwhelmed by donations — not only from kind-hearted Brits but people around the globe, The Sun reports.

The former Army captain is trying to complete his challenge before he turns 100 on April 30.

Tom uses a frame for the 25-yard loops of his garden in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire.

He has been trying to do 10 laps at a time to help support NHS frontline workers fighting coronavirus.

Yes it's all correct. But even after all that the old traditions are still there.
To put it in perspective that's at least 3 x times the population of Australia.

Marcc: "Living dirtier on the Farm & not drowning everything in disinfectant and getting more sun (Vitamin D) actually strengthens the immune system."

This is very true:
Try and get 10 minutes of sun without a shirt occasionally + some cod liver oil.
For replenishment of the gut Microbiome, get some mature/aged type cheese.

I just received a personally addressed email from my health fund saying: "We've got your mental wellbeing sorted".

I looked in vain to see if that meant they have reduced my quarterly insurance fee.

That's on par with ABC Goulburn Murray; Facebook.

Daniel Andrews with his Mental Health Minister.... Oh how that can be wilfully misconstrued. No wonder we have a mess. Toss him out & replace him with a Minister for Mental health & see if we can get some sanity into the portfolio.

replace him with a Minister for Mental health

When it comes to any such ministries, I can only think of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCLp7zodUiI

A noticeable increase in people out shopping today. Many stores are still closed but the foot traffic was much larger than it has been over the previous week, and the empty parking spaces are fewer, too. Some of that may be down to grocery shopping after Anzac Day.

I get the feeling that if the government doesn't signal "all clear" soon, the population is going to do it anyway -- for better or for worse.

Meanwhile, I'm keeping my distance.
