Hi,complete newbie here....

A few years ago I picked up this old STC radio from a garage sale...looks to have a blown valve so ive never tryed to get it going.

It has 2 of the 3 origional knobs on it,but we pulled them off and put them away so the kids didnt pull them off and loose them.

Was wondering how much something like this is worth...Im not really considering selling it,as it makes a nice loungeroom piece, but just doing a bit of research on it merely out of curiosity.

The licencing plate riveted to the back has A1088 on it,with 17 stamped lightly after it.
After reading the dating old radios info here,i understand it to be 1934?It also has 56-2773 stamped on the steel casing inside...what does that mean?

ill try to upload a few pics...hope they work...

The frequency scale goes from around 200 to around 550 if that helps too...

Hi HSV,

My guess is that it is a model 562 incoroprating a type 56 chassis. The valve lineup should be 57,58, 2B7,2A5 and 80.

Unfortunately, my circuit data does not begin until 1937 so I'm unable to provide any more details.

As for what it's worth? I would'n't hazzard a guess. Whatever a buyer is prepared to pay maybe. The chassis looks in great condition and would be a pleasure for a collector to restore.

Cheers, Graham...
