Hi everyone
I have recently acquired this old radio from my dad. I've browsed through this website for information to help identify it and I'm assuming it's from 1940-1941 due to the "G" before the serial number? I've spent a lot of time searching the net for a "National Radio Company" radio like this but can't find anything. Any information/help would be greatly appreciated. You can check out photo's here: http://users.tpg.com.au/adsltohd/ (they're not the best quality though, sorry.). Cheers Smile

G'day Theslayer,

There was a company called National (not related to the subsidiary of Matsushita in Japan) which made radios back in the golden days.

You are right that the 'G' prefix on the licence transfer means that the set was made either in 1940 or early 1941. I am not sure what the 'No. 5' means and I must admit to being curious about it and have been for a long time. Apart from that there is not much else to say except that this set is fairly typical of what was made before production virtually ceased so that companies had the capacity to produce equipment for the war.

There are 52 pages of schematics for National in the AORSM on CD. Can you find anything that might be a model number stamped on the chassis there Slayer?
